Hikaroroa Mt Watkin Conservation Group

Hikaroroa Mt Watkin Catchment Group needed more than just a place to put information online. They needed a website that could help keep their community informed, show the work happening across the catchment, recognise the people and organisations supporting them, and make it easier for people to get involved.

The site was built using our Foundation template package, with a range of bolt-on modules we’ve developed specifically with community and environmental groups in mind.

Alongside the core website, Hikaroroa uses an Instagram feed to keep fresh content flowing through to the site, events with RSVP functionality, a volunteer hours integration and display, and TrapNZ statistics to show the impact of their trapping work. There are also modules for team members and supporters, making it easy to recognise the people behind the organisation and the funders helping make the work possible.

The site also includes basic ecommerce and a donations module, giving the group practical ways to generate support directly through the website.

It’s a good example of what our Foundation package is designed to do: start with a solid, affordable website and add the tools a community group actually needs, without having to build everything from scratch.
