Motorcycle Replacements

Motorcycle Replacements came to Turboweb because they wanted to work with a local business on their website, and because they felt their current website was clunky and old and incredibly difficult for them to update regularly. They’re really active in the Motorcycle world, with strong ties to Central Otago and have their own motorcycle community – the Distinguished Riders Society (DRS). Rachel wanted to be able to easily upload photos from their events and be able to better display all the community events and things that they had coming up.

What really sets Motorcycle Replacements apart is they’re more than just a motorbike shop – they’re heavily involved in the motorcycle community, running and going to events practically every weekend. Their staff regularly compete in races and they really know their stuff. Rachel wanted the website to really have elements that would d make it easy for new customers and motorcycle enthusiasts to join their community so the website has a Mailchimp integration (so they can easily sign up and receive newsletters) and a community section with news and events.

Uploading used motorbikes can take a lot of time, so Motorcycle Replacements went with a Dealerbase integration. This means they upload the bikes one place and with a click they’re on the website and on Facebook. They also wanted it to be really easy for customers to see if they can get finance on a motorcycle, so they have an MTF finance calculator, right there on the page.

Because Motorcycle Replacements do a lot of events, they tend to take a lot of photos and wanted to be the go-to place to see pics of the latest motorcycle events. So, Turboweb created a customised gallery so that allows them to have a whole lot of great albums on the website. They also have a gallery on the homepage.

These guys are big in the local motorcycle community and wanted a customised community section of the website so anyone new motorbikes, or anyone looking for upcoming events could find the right info on the Motorcycle Replacements website.

Turboweb had a photographer go to Motorcycle Replacements. Trev, our local photographer, took some great staff profile photos, they’re nice and bright with a clear background and he always does a great job of getting people candid and relaxed. He took some great shots of the outside of the premises and some good internal shots and details that really describe the brand.

MCR have some cool spaces with corrugated iron and old signs and reused wheel trims and things – a really unique feel and our photographer was able to really capture that for them.

One of the things I find about the Turboweb site is the ease and speed at which I can make changes, sometimes daily.

Our old website was getting very tired looking, images had dated, and some of the grammar was really bad (as well as the odd spelling mistake) but it was very difficult and expensive to make changes, so we just put up with it. The only hesitation I had was I concerned about the ease of updating information on the website – these fears were totally unfounded.

I wanted to deal with a local company who knew what I was talking about ie: if I said Green Island, they knew where it was and that I wasn’t actually talking about an island!

The process from start to finish was great. Paul visited us and answered all the random questions I had. Once we had committed, I really felt like I had a whole team behind me helping through the journey.

We love the final result (and the results it has given us). The follow up from the Turbo web team has been outstanding. We are looking forward to the next stage!
