INTRO

Fiordland Jet is a new venture into tourism for Chris and Jerry. Te Anau and Fiordland have featured strongly in both Chris and Jerry’s lives, being a holiday spot for both of their families. When the opportunity to run a jet boating venture in Te Anau became available Chris and Jerry jumped at it. They’re excited about the opportunity to share Fiordland National Park with the world.
 

CREATIVE BRIEF

For Fiordland Jet, “Fun is Good” is their mantra. FJet is a unique, exciting experience. Fiordland Jet are aiming to target the foreign market, along with kiwi holiday makers over 25. Advertising Fiordland’s unique environment, in a fun and exciting way, through their website is ideal. Fiordland Jet had Turboweb work with them through all their branding, logo design and marketing collateral. Turboweb helped create a logo that works from business cards, to the side of tour buses, and jet boats. T-shirts, USB tags and promotional branded videos were all part of set-up package of Fiordland Jet as a brand full of fun and excitement, in a pristine environment.

WEBSITE

The Fiordland Jet website ties in with Rezdy – one of the best tour booking systems, which is used throughout the tourism industry for booking tours. The bright yellow of Fiordland Jet says fun and excitement from the offset. While the blue ties in the water. The large banner image and four call out boxes to the tours make Fiordland Jet super easy for users to navigate to rides. People can even fast book rides directly from the homepage, in just a few clicks. Images of the breath-taking scenery feature heavily on Fiordland Jet, with the phone number and a book now button featuring prominently across the site. This makes booking tours for visitors to the site super easy.

LOGO

The Fiordland Jet logo was designed inhouse, with panel groups placing feedback on different logo options. The usability of the logo was considered with its design – as the logo lives across not just the website and print media, but on other marketing collateral such as TVCs, t-shirts, hats, sunglasses, pens, tour buses, life jackets and jet boats.
 

MARKETING COLLATERAL

Turboweb worked alongside Fiordland Jet to produce a wide range of marketing collateral, from branded USBs to use in tour buses, to a range of print media, to large scale storefront signage, a TVC to display on two TVs at the storefront, a tour bus, jet boats (so hardwearing) signage, t-shirts, sunglasses, life jackets, raincoats, hats... you name it; Fiordland Jet have the goods to kit out their staff and represent their brand across Te Anau and Fiordland. As it’s a business doing business with people – kitting out their staff is key to carrying the brand. The colours and beautiful scenery have come across to the jet boat and tour buses as well, with the uses of yellow and blue and landscape photography, with the jet boat in action across the back of the bus. This all makes for great on the go advertising.

We were initially contacted by Gaylene at Turboweb, Gaylene rang us and knew we were looking to develop a new business and looking at a website and some branding. What’s great about the website is that we can make small changes to things ourselves, without using developers and additional costs, which is great. It gives us that flexibility, as a new business, to make small changes.
 
When they say, ‘bridging the gap between humans and geeks’ at Turboweb, they really mean it. If you’re not very computer literate, to the point of fearing the stuff, they are ideal to work with, as they make everything simple to understand.
 
We now have a website and a brand that is better than what we originally planned. What Turboweb have done for us goes above and beyond what we thought possible.
