Bob Brown - Website Developer and Project Manager
Bob was born in Mosgiel and has lived in Dunedin since 1992. He moved to Napier in 1997 for six years, then to the UK for two years, returning to Dunedin in 2005. Bob says, “the size of Dunedin is just right for me - I love how there's only about two degrees of separation. Also after having left here and come back I realise how much of a great city we have. There are so many opportunities for exploring and doing stuff in nature.”
Bob comes from a background of technical support and operations management. He met Paul and Aaron in the early years of Turboweb over something as simple as "resizing images". A few lunchtime chats ensued, along with a few beers here and there and then ultimately the time was right to "leap" from his previous job at a company that was nearing it's end.
Bob loves that Turboweb is not a big corporate. He proudly states, “we're funky and fresh, grungy and arty.” He had never worked in this kind of environment before and finds it a refreshing change. “Turboweb has a great team of people who bring a wide range of skills and opinions which helps to keep our keel even.”
Outside of work Bob loves spending time with his wife and four kids and listening to a range of podcasts. He is also a Craft Beer Nerd and is training in Taekwon Do where he's a 7th gup (yellow belt with green stripe). Bob can be spotted cruising around town on his “mean” 100cc scooter, and has a penchant for board games and Funniest Home Videos on YouTube.
