Configuring Thunderbird with Turboweb

Configuring Thunderbird with TurbowebWe use and recommend Thunderbird, a free mail program created by the Mozilla Foundation.  Thunderbird is available for PC, Mac and Linux operating systems.  We recommend it for the same reason we recommend using Firefox as your web browser.

To configure Thunderbird for use with your Turboweb account, follow these steps.
  1. From the Tools menu (or Edit menu on Linux), select Account Settings.
  2. Click the "Add Account" button on the bottom left corner of the window that pops up.
  3. Select "Email Account" and click Next.
  4. Enter your name and email address and click Next.
  5. Select "POP" for the type of incoming server.
  6. The incoming server name is "mail.yourdomainname.com" or "mail.yourdomainname.co.nz" - enter that appropriately.  If you are setting up only one account you may want to leave the "Use Global Inbox" option ticked.  If you are setting up your Turboweb account alongside another account and want to keep these separate, untick it.  Click Next to proceed.
  7. Enter your full Turboweb email address for the incoming username, e.g. sam@yourdomainname.co.nz
  8. Finally, enter an account name - or simply leave the default in there.
The first time you try to access your email you will be asked for your password.  Enter your password and tick the "Remember password" box.
